March 24, 1958: Future member of the Red Sox Hall of Fame, left-handed pitcher Bruce Hurst, is born in St. George, UT; the stylish southpaw, who won 88 games pitching for the Red Sox from 1980 to 1988, earned American League All-Star status in 1987 and led the Red Sox staff with 18 wins in 1988, before he signed with the San Diego Padres as a free agent.
