December 14, 1999: The Red Sox traded Everett’s sending shortstop Adam to the Houston Astros for outfielder Carl Everett; Carl, who was known as “Jurassic Carl” for his refusal to acknowledge that dinosaurs had ever existed, added power but feuded with manager Jimy Williams and teammates during his two tumultuous years in Boston.
