December 8, 1977: The Red Sox trade right-handed pitcher Don Aase to the California Angels for second baseman Jerry Remy; a native of Somerset, MA, Remy will go on to play eight seasons in Boston, add speed to the Boston lineup, achieve All-Star status, and he will go on to legendary status as the NESN color analyst the “RemDawg.”
