December 7, 1978: The Red Sox trade left-handed pitcher Bill “Spaceman” Lee to the Montreal Expos for the immortal Stan Papi ridding manager Don Zimmer of his nemesis; Lee wins 16 games for the Expos in 1979 and he is inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2009, while Papi bats .188 as a back-up infielder in his one full season in Boston.
