This Day in History: 2000-11-28
November 28, 1958: Notre Dame sophomore Carl Michael Yastrzemski got his first look at Fenway Park on a tour that included his father and Red Sox scout Bots Nekola; in what ranks as the understatement of the year, and perhaps the century, 19-year-old Yastrzemski tells his father and Nekola, “I can hit in this park.” NOTE: 1,822 career hits at Fenway.
