November 23, 1995: The Boston Red Sox, acting through The JRY Trust established at the death of Jean Yawkey, purchase Haywood Sullivan’s minority share of the club for a reported $12 million; Sullivan, who had been a backup catcher for the Red Sox, purchased his original share using a loan of $1 million from Jean Yawkey.
