November 20, 1972: Catcher Carlton “Pudge” Fisk, the pride of Charlestown, NH, is a unanimous choice as the American League’s Rookie of the Year; Fisk would go on to play eleven seasons with the Red Sox before signing with the White Sox in 1981 where he played for thirteen seasons and he was inducted into baseball’s Hall of Fame in 2000.
