November 13, 2000: Red Sox pitcher Pedro Martinez (1998-2004) is unanimously voted as the American League Cy Young Award winner; for Pedro, who went 18-6 with a 1.74 ERA compared to AL ERA average of 4.91, it was the second year in a row that he was unanimously selected as the Cy Young winner and it is his third Cy Young Award in four years.
