October 29, 1975: Red Sox centerfielder Fred Lynn, who led the AL in doubles, runs scored, slugging average and OPS, while helping the Red Sox to the World Series, is a runaway choice for AL Rookie of the Year honors; Lynn, who is later selected by Sports Illustrated as their Sportsman of the Year, will go on to win a Gold Glove and become the first rookie MVP.
