October 27, 2004: Eighty-six years of frustration came to an end as the Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 3-0 before 52,037, to win their first World championship since 1918; Big Papi, Johnny Damon and Trot Nixon provided the offense while Derek Lowe pitched seven shutout innings to earn the win, his third series-winning victory in 2004.
