October 13, 1915: The Boston Red Sox defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 5-4 before 20,306 fans at the Baker Bowl to win the third World Series in the team’s history; this may have been the dead-ball era but right fielder Harry Hooper hit two home runs and leftfielder Duffy Lewis added a two-run homer.
