October 7, 1975: The Boston Red Sox defeat the defending three-straight World Champion Oakland A’s 5-3 to win the American League Pennant before a sellout crowd of 49,385 fans at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum; Rick Wise got the win pitching 7+ strong innings while Carl Yastrzemski contributed two spectacular catches and two hits.
