October 2, 1978: In the second playoff game in American League history, the Red Sox had lost the first in 1948 losing to the Indians 8-3 at Fenway Park, Bucky F—–g Dent’s three run seventh inning home run off Mike Torrez powers the Yankees to a 5-4 win; the winning pitcher was Ron Guidry and the losing pitcher was Mike Torrez as 32,925 fans looked on at Fenway Park.
