August 1, 1914: The Boston Braves defeat the St. Louis Cardinals 4-3 in ten innings in a game played at Fenway Park as they reach the .500 mark for the first time at 45-45; the “Miracle Braves,” who played at Fenway Park for most of the 1914 season while they waited for Braves Field to be constructed, went from 15 games out of first on the 4th of July to win the NL pennant.
