July 6, 1966: The Red Sox sweep a doubleheader from the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium winning the opener by a score of 5-3 and the nightcap by a score of 5-4; relief pitcher Don McMahon is the wining pitcher for the Red Sox in both games and researchers discover that the last pitcher to beat the Yankees twice in one day was Dave Davenport in 1916.
