June 4, 1967: The Red Sox obtain right-handed All-Star pitcher Gary “Ding Dong” Bell from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for outfielder Don Demeter and first baseman Tony Horton; Bell will be a key contributor to the Impossible Dream Team, winning 12 games during his four months with the club, helping the Red Sox to their first AL Pennant since 1946.
