June 3, 1952: Fan favorite Johnny Pesky is traded to the Detroit Tigers along with Walt Dropo, Don Lenhardt and two others for George Kell, Hoot Evers, and two other Tigers; the trade is one of the biggest trades in Boston Red Sox history and signifies the end of one era and the beginning of the ill-fated Boudreau “Youth Movement.”
