May 5, 1929: The Boston Braves lose 7-2 to the Pittsburg Pirates as 35,000 fans watch the first regular National League game ever played on a Sunday in Boston; because of Fenway Park’s proximity to a church, the Red Sox will not play a Sunday game at Fenway, borrowing Braves Field for Sunday games until July 3, 1932, when the Blue Law was amended.
