May 3, 1938: Red Sox pitcher Lefty Grove defeats the Detroit Tigers 4-3 and this win starts a personal streak of 20 straight wins while pitching at Fenway Park; Grove’s streak lasted from May 3, 1938 until May 12, 1941, Groves last big league season, and it will help him to be elected to Baseball’s Hall of Fame in 1947.
