April 9, 1990: After a 2 year absence, Bill Buckner, the designated goat of the 1986 World Series loss, returns to play for the Red Sox and receives a standing ovation when he is announced to the Opening Day crowd at Fenway Park; Buckner will finish out a distinguished 22 year MLB career with the 1990 Boston Red Sox.
