March 27, 1986: MLB’s Rule Committee votes to change the use of the Designated Hitter in the World Series from every-other-year to only games in American League parks; the change will hurt the Red Sox in October when the lose the use of Don Baylor’s bat in the four games played in Shea Stadium in a year originally scheduled for DH use in every game.
