This Day in History: 2000-03-23

March 23, 1967: George Scott’s career as an outfielder came to a crashing end when the first baseman ran full speed into the right field wall during a 7-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers; Scott was held overnight at the Winter Haven Hospital but the only damage was to George’s chin and the wall and Billy Rohr’s ERA from John Kennedy’s three-run homer on Scott’s misplay.
