March 8, 1908: Former Boston Braves right fielder (1924-1925) and Braves manager (1938-1943) Casey Stengel is selected to baseball’s Hall of Fame; Stengel gains entry to the Hall of Fame in recognition of his ten American League Pennants and seven World Championships with the New York Yankees and not for his 373-491 (.432) managerial record with the Braves.
