March 7, 1967: Red Sox manager Dick Williams plays first baseman George Scott in right field during an inter-squad game and announces that Scott will be used in the outfield during the regular season “as needed”; Scott will later knock himself unconscious running into the right field wall in Winter Haven, FL, ending the experiment.
