February 24, 1990: Former Red Sox outfielder Tony Conigliaro, who was the youngest player in the American League to reach 100 home runs, passed away at the age of 45; Tony C., who had been an invalid since his 1982 heart attack, overcame a beaning by Jack Hamilton of the Angels in July 1967, returning to play 1969-1971, and briefly for the Red Sox in 1975.
