December 5, 1991: The Red Sox agree with the City of Fort Myers to relocate their spring training headquarters to the Gulf Coast from Winter Haven, FL, where they had trained since 1966, to the newly constructed City of Palms Park, where they remained until Jet Blue Stadium was opened in 2012.
