November 18, 1986: Red Sox pitcher Roger Clemens (1984-1996) is voted the American League MVP for the 1986 season in recognition of his 24 wins that helped his club to the AL Pennant; Clemens had earned the 1986 CY Young Award the previous week to become the first AL pitcher to capture both awards since Vida Blue in 1971.
