November 15, 1967: Red Sox Hall of Fame great Carl Yastrzemski (1961-1983) is selected as the American League’s Most Valuable Player; Yaz led the 100-1 underdog, Impossible Dream Team Red Sox to their first American League Pennant since 1946, and became the last player to win the AL Triple Crown until Miguel Cabrera in 2012.
