November 10, 1954: Red Sox pitcher Bob Stanley (1977-1989) is born in Portland, ME: with 115 wins and 132 saves, Stanley contributed to more wins (247) than any pitcher in team history; Stanley went 15-2 for the 1978 Red Sox, earning the nickname “The Vulture” and he was an American League All-Star in 1979 and 1983.
