November 1, 1967: Red Sox rookie manager Dick Williams receives 23 of a possible 24 votes and he is named American League Manager of the Year by United Press International; Williams took a Red Sox team that had finished ninth in 1966 and led them to the American League Pennant and a seven game loss in the World Series.
