October 24, 2004: The Red Sox took Game Two of the World Series with a 6-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals before 35,001 fans at Fenway Park who were beginning to hope that the 86-year World Championship drought was over; Curt Schilling held the Cards to four hits and one run in six strong innings to earn the win and Jason Varitek’s rare triple drove in two key runs.
