October 18, 1986: Game One of the World Series was played at Shea Stadium before 55,076 Mets fans who went home disappointed as the Red Sox won 1-0; Bruce Hurst shut-out the Mets on four hits through eight innings, Calvin Schiraldi earned the save, and Jim Rice scored the winning run in the seventh inning.
