This Day in History: 2000-09-25

September 25, 1978: The never-say-die 1978 Boston Red Sox move to within one game of the AL East-leading New York Yankees with a 7-6 14th inning win over the Blue Jays at Exhibition Park; a Butch Hobson single drove in Jim Rice with what turns out to be the winning run and Dick Drago gets the win pitching 4 2/3rds scoreless innings.
