September 23, 1967: Carl Yastrzemski’s 42nd home run in the fifth inning gives the Red Sox a 5-4 lead over the Baltimore Orioles but Brooks Robinson homers in the eighth inning to give the O’s a 7-5 win; the Red Sox fall to third place but they are only game behind the Minnesota Twins in the down-to-the wire AL pennant race.
