September 19, 1967: The Red Sox score three runs in the top of the ninth inning and go on to defeat Detroit 4-2 as the Red Sox move into a tie with the Twins for first place in the AL while the Tigers fall to fourth; catcher Russ Gibson has two RBI for the Red Sox, Jose Santiago gets his second win in two days and the Sox defeat Tigers’ ace Mickey Lolich.
