August 29, 2000: Pedro Martinez retires the first 24 Tamps Devil Rays in order and shrugs off a single by former Red Sox catcher John Flaherty to lead off the ninth as the Red Sox defeat the Rays 8-0 before 17,450 fans at the Tropicana Dome; Pedro strikes out 13 batters and doesn’t walk anyone in an absolutely dominating performance.
