August 10, 1999: The Red Sox defeat the Royals 9-6 in ten innings in a game played in Kansas City, with the win going to Rich Garces who is affectionately known as “El Guapo”; in the bottom of the ninth inning Tim Wakefield tied an MLB record with four strikeouts, but the Royals tied the game with two runs.
