This Day in History: 2000-07-26

July 26, 1964: Rookie sensation Tony Conigliaro hit a home run helping Earl Wilson to his eleventh win as the Red Sox defeated the Cleveland Indians 6-1 in the first game of a doubleheader at Municipal Stadium; but in the second game Tony’s arm was broken by a pitch from Pedro Ramos of the Indians and he was fined by manager Johnny Pesky for a curfew violation.
