This Day in History: 2000-07-19

July 19, 1958: Ted Williams hits a two-run home run in the bottom on the twelfth inning to give the Red Sox a come-from-behind 7-6 win over the Detroit Tigers; the Tigers had pushed across a run in the top of the twelfth to take a 6-5 lead, but Jimmy Piersall singled as a pinch-hitter and with two outs Williams lauched a drive into the right field grandstand.
