July 8, 1994: Red Sox shortstop John Valentine becomes the 10th player in MLB history to pull off an unassisted triple play in the second inning at Fenway in a game against the Seattle Mariners and leads off the bottom of the second with a home run; Valentine’s heroics are not enough though as the Red Sox lose to the Mariners 7-4.
