July 2, 1972: Red Sox center fielder Reggie Smith homers batting left-handed in the sixth inning and homers batting right-handed in the seventh to lead the Red Sox to a 15-4 shellacking of the Milwaukee Brewers; Smith will play eight seasons for the Red Sox, earning All-Star honors twice, and go on to play another nine seasons as 5-time All-Star in the NL
