June 10, 1953: Red Sox right fielder Jimmy Piersall goes 6-6, with the hits coming against five different pitchers, in an 11-2 victory over the St. Louis Browns; Piersall, who was making a comeback after suffering through a nervous breakdown the previous season, tied an American League record and became the first Red Sox player with six hits in one game.
