This Day in History: 2000-06-06
June 6, 1948: The Red Sox slug three consecutive home runs hit on nine pitches by Stan Spence, Vern Stephens and Ted Williams en route to a 12-4 win over the Detroit Tigers; this is the second time in 1948 (the first time was on Opening Day) that Red Sox hitters have connected for three consecutive home runs and this establishes an MLB record.
