April 7, 1918: Future Red Sox Hall of Famer member Bobby Doerr is born in Los Angeles, CA: Doerr, who is the oldest living Hall of Fame member at age 95, played for the Red Sox from 1937 to 1951 while serving as the unofficial captain of the team, earned American League All-Star honors nine times, and was elected to baseball’s Hall of Fame in 1986.
