March 13, 1953: Boston Braves owner Lou Perini announces that he will apply to the National League to move the franchise from Boston to Milwaukee; the last MLB franchise to move had been the Baltimore Orioles when they moved to New York prior to the 1903 season to become the Highlanders and ultimately the New York Yankees.
